About
The Disabled Photographers’ Society (DPS) is a registered charity, formed in 1968 to champion making photography accessible to those with disabilities. Today, the society continues to grow, supporting disabled members across the country with adaptations and innovations that break down barriers and create more inclusive spaces for photographers.
Over the years, the DPS have developed a broad knowledge of various innovations to make photography more accessible. Often with a few simple modifications, we can open up a whole new world of possibilities to those who would otherwise struggle to operate a camera. The society is run by a team of dedicated volunteers, most of whom are disabled photographers themselves.
The Annual Exhibition and coinciding Awards Ceremony is a well anticipated celebration of The DPS members’ photography. Open to all, regardless of experience. Members enter the competition, eager to share their work with an annually changing, invited panel of judges and to be considered for a number of awards, including Overall Best Image.
The Disabled Photographers Society proudly position themselves as a source of knowledge on all aspects of photography for people with disabilities. The Art House is proud to be hosting this inspiring selection of work and welcome you to celebrate the important work that the DPS and their members do.
