About
Join the family on an Eerie-on-Sea Monster Museum Tour at Wakefield Museum this half-term!
This Halloween, families will be able to search for strange creatures and spooky spectres at Wakefield Museum, Wakefield as part of the national Eerie-on-Sea Monster Museum Tour, organised by Kids in Museums and Walker Books. The fun, family trail celebrates the release of the latest book in the Eerie-on-Sea Mysteries series: Mermedusa by Thomas Taylor.
In the basement of the Grand Nautilus Hotel, Herbert Lemon is plagued by unsettling dreams. It’s Midwinter once again, and Eerie-on-Sea has been invaded by a famous podcast crew, determined to uncover all the secrets of Eerie, especially the famous legend of the fearsome Malamander. But Herbie and Violet are faced with a new mystery, one that threatens to shake the town to its very core. Is the Deepest Secret of Eerie-on-Sea about to be revealed?
Over 50 museums around the UK will be taking part over the October half-term and encouraging families to explore their local museum. The activity will run from 16 October to 5 November 2023.
Pick up a free activity sheet to take part. Can you spot all the monsters of the mysterious seaside town of Eerie-on-Sea? Complete the trail and get a free Eerie-on-Sea bookmark and sticker!
Families will also have the chance to enter a national prize draw competition. Kids in Museums is inviting families to design their own mythical monster or magical creature and share it on social media for a chance to win a bundle of all five books in the Eerie-on-Sea series.
