About
The wonder of The Hatchling continues!
You can visit the City Centre from 9:30am-10:30am, prior to the main activities opening, to view the dragon whilst she is asleep in her nest.
There will be two Event Hubs (located at Cathedral Precinct and Coronation Gardens respectively). Here you can expect a number of free activities including life drawing classes and craft workshops!
As the clock strikes noon The Hatchling will awake and emerge from her nest, ready to continue her journey exploring the streets of Wakefield.
We invite you to join her exploration and follow her as she winds her way through familiar streets, transformed by her presence into a landscape of wonder. Along the way, you’ll be treated to a series of captivating performances by local community groups. Each one specially prepared to welcome our visitor to Wakefield.
As evening approaches, she will settle again at her nesting site at 7pm in the Cathedral Precinct. A local band will perform a soothing lullaby to lull her to sleep after a busy day exploring.
