About
Come and create your own abstract sculpture inspired by artist Ro Robertson. Work with Modroc to mould, shape and smooth, using plaster bandages and found objects collected from Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Choose your own natural materials to add colour and texture to your sculpture.
There will also be opportunity to decorate The Love & Hope Boat which is touring around Wakefield this summer. All materials are provided.
The Love and Hope Boat is inspired by the boat held aloft in the hand of artist Jason Wilsher-Mills’ sculpture Amazonian Caiman God, part of the Wakefield Sculpture Trail. A retired boat from Pugneys Country Park has been up-cycled for the project. The boat offers a chance for people to contribute artwork, inspired by love and hope, as it sets sail across the district. See the finished Love and Hope Boat and climb aboard in Wakefield City Centre as part of The Wakefield Sculpture Trail finale event The Gathering.
