About
Alvi is homeless. Feeling lost, he lays his head down one final night and turns to the moon for a miracle. The Man in the Moon answers…
It’s estimated that almost a quarter of all homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+, despite LGBTQ+ people making up a small portion of the population, and that the number one reason for their plight is parental rejection.
Over the past year, Empath Action CIC has worked with a group of young LGBTQ+ people and their allies to restage Empath’s show The Man in the Moon and raise awareness of LGBTQ+ youth issues. Now, join us at Our House, the LGBTQ centre in Wakefield, for four very special performance nights:
“With the help of the kindly Man in the Moon, can Alvi face the ghosts of his past, come to terms with the mother who rejected him, and find a path forward and off the streets, or is his story at an end?”
Plus, learn about the Live Well Wakefield-funded programme that has seen a group of amazing LGBTQ+ young people working as part of the creative team behind the production.
