About
Step into Wakefield’s past and uncover the extraordinary stories hidden beneath your feet.
In the lead-up to Empath Theatre’s immersive performance The Story of the Stones at Wakefield Cathedral, local historian Helga Fox will deliver a fascinating FREE talk revealing the secrets she’s unearthed. From powerful mayors and mischievous rogues to cat-loving eccentrics and cholera patients, join Helga as she brings history vividly to life.
This free talk caps of a year of in-depth research into the memorial stones and provides a unique insight into just how important Wakefield Cathedral has been to communities from across not just the Wakefield district but much of the country.
Helga will also provide a quick tour of the Cathedral so that you can see the stones in situ and ask questions, making this an educational experience not to be missed!
