About
A brief history of the gardens and summerhouse of Friarwood Valley Gardens by Dr Colin White, then Bob Clayden, Pinhole Wizard, gives tours of this remarkable building.
Drop in to enjoy a short 20-30 minute visit hosted by Friends of Friarwood Valley Gardens chair, Dr Colin White, and community artist, Bob Clayden.
The whole area has had a varied past from a monastic site, to fruit trees and liquorice land, market gardens, and now a public park, enhanced by Friends of Friarwood Valley Gardens for over 10 years.
The former summerhouse then aviary has been converted into the largest pinhole camera in the world (we believe). Bob Clayden, the Pinhole Wizard, is giving tours of this remarkable building. Come along and experience what it is like to be inside a camera!
Car parking is extremely limited, though the site is fully accessible from town centre car parking. Head to Southgate, and enter the site opposite Tooth & Tiger bar.
Organised by Pontefract Civic Society for Heritage Open Days.
