The historic Queen’s Mill situated on the bank of the River Aire is delighted to release details of its literary festival taking place on the evening of Saturday 2 October 2021.
Confirmed guests include nationally acclaimed word artists Matt Abbott and Toria Garbutt, best-selling historical crime fiction writer Chris Nickson from Leeds, Louise Houghton, the Editor-in-Chief of Yorkshire Bylines, and the Fairy Bikers from Bedale ahead of the release of their entertaining new book, Lipstick and Leather, telling the story of their motorcycle road trip across the states. The evening is hosted by Five Towns Local Radio presenters, The History Man and Her.
Running alongside the festival is an exhibition of the work of renowned street photographers John and Bridget Gill.
Castleford has a long and proud history of being involved in the arts. The hometown of artists Henry Moore and Albert Wainwright it was also the base of the ground-breaking internationally acclaimed Yorkshire Art Circus. To this day it is the home of artists, writers, and theatre companies.
