The Rhubarb Festival’s Food and Drink Market is bigger and better than ever! Start your rhubarb adventure by WX on Union Street where you can enjoy artisan sausages rolls and pies, homemade sweet treats and much more!


The Market will be open:

FREE WORKSHOPS


Reflecting Rhubarb Mosaic Workshop


Join a community centred, hands-on mosaic workshop on Friday that invites you to contribute towards a large-scale mosaic triangle, with a mirror in the centre inspired by the iconic Rhubarb Triangle.


On Saturday and Sunday you’ll have the chance to decorate your own individual Rhubarb Triangles to take home.


Friday & Saturday: 10am-5pm


Sunday: 10am-4pm


Make Your Own Bath Bombs


Get hands on and make your own Rhubarb themed bath bomb to take home and enjoy.


Friday & Saturday: 10am-5pm


Grow your own Rhubarb


Decorate a recycled pot (rhubarb-themed of course!) before planting a rhubarb seed in recycled compost to take home and watch bloom.

Join us as Stephanie Thompson from the National Coal Mining Museum for England explores the link between coal mining and rhubarb in her talk: ‘Coal, Rhubarb and Miners’ Welfare’.

E. Oldroyd & Sons Ltd are producers and packers of high-quality Yorkshire forced rhubarb and fruit. Join us as Janet Oldroyd shares her passion for Rhubarb and the heritage of the Rhubarb Triangle.

Sunday: 3pm – 4pm


Join Wakefield Museums and Castles Curator John Whitaker to discover the history of Yorkshire Forced Rhubarb, Wakefield’s most famous vegetable!
