Come and explore the dark side of Wakefield with Wakefield Civic Society‘s famous Ghost Walk!

OK, there are no actual ghosts on this ‘ghost walk’, instead, you will hear about the strange circumstances surrounding a number of deaths in the city centre during the Victorian era. Learn about some of the social conditions that existed at the time – and also about the street layout and buildings of Victorian Wakefield.

The walk starts from outside the Town Hall in Wood Street.

Please note if you are a wheelchair user that this guided tour is around city centre streets, some of which can be narrow and uneven – and there are kerbs that might not have convenient crossing points.
