Funded by a Wakefield Council Culture Grant as part of Our Year 2024, We are From… is a new song cycle written with and for the Wakefield district using live performance, improvisation, oral history and soundscaping to tell stories of places and people across the district.
The premiere performance features singer Rachel Modest, pianist Pete Rosser, bass player Nick Wells, percussionist Inder Goldfinger and composer/musician Charlie Wells alongside a host of community musicians, celebrating Wakefield and the five towns through personal stories and shared experiences.
Lasting no longer than an hour, this central Wakefield venue is accessible and the performance will also feature live BSL interpretation from Samantha Green. There is parking on street outside the venue and in nearby car parks a short walk away.
