Wed 04 Aug 2021 - Wed 25 Aug 2021
10:30 - 16:00
Recommended for people from 7 years old
Each Wednesday this August we will explore a different making skill and get curious about nature, inspired by thought-provoking sculpture. Get art thinking and art making together, while connecting to the natural world.
Roll up your sleeves and prepare to get messy (and, quite possibly, blissfully happy).
For ages 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
There will be two sessions each Wednesday.
Session one: 10:30am–1pm | Session two: 2pm–4pm
Both adults AND children must have their own event tickets due to Covid restrictions.
4th August – Mark-Make and Explore in Nature | Spend time together in nature, experimenting with the natural element of water and watercolours.
11th August – Clay and Explore in Nature | Collect treasures from the natural world and notice different textures, patterns and shapes. Experiment with your found nature treasures and discover what happens when you introduce clay.
18th August – Weave and Explore in Nature | Weaving is our oldest craft. Take time to observe, forage and collect natural materials to weave and sculpt your own bird’s nest.
25th August – Print and Explore in Nature | Make your voice heard and share your passion for the natural world. Create your own screen-printed textile artwork.
This event is free to YSP visitors but pre-booking is essential. A YSP general entry ticket is also required for all participants – book in advance.
