Step into the darker side of Wakefield’s history this Halloween on the 1800s Murders of Wakefield Walk. Beginning at Wakefield Museum, follow The Curator through the city streets and uncover true tales of murder, suspicious deaths, terrible accidents and strange crimes. Hear the evidence, discover the verdicts and prepare to pass judgement on one final case. Will your decision match the one made all those years ago?

In this two and a half hour workshop at A Touch of Craft you will learn a variety of techniques: terrazzo, marbling and block colour to create 3 items – a lidded pumpkin-shaped pot (suitable for jewellery, a small plant or a tea light), a mini terrazzo pot and a coaster! All materials will be provided, but you might want to bring an apron or large shirt to keep your clothes clean. Because Jesmonite is quick to set, you will be able to take your creations home with you at the end of the workshop, ready to put pride of place at home!

Celebrate spooky-season by joining Abbie Brewer of Sunshine Child at The Art House for a playful, hands-on Halloween workshop making your very own cheerful (or spooky!) ceramic pumpkin to enjoy year after year. Spend the day learning how to shape and build your own pumpkin using pinch pot techniques before adding details and textures to make it completely your own. You’ll then carve openings for the a tea light to shine through, bringing personality to your pumpkin and transforming it into a glowing Halloween decoration. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created your own ceramic pumpkin tea light holder, ready to be glazed and fired. You’ll be able to pick it up just in time for halloween to light up your spooky celebrations.
