Bold As Brass

If you like your music with a slice of heritage, this one’s for you! Taking place at the National Coal Mining Museum, and organised by Brass Bands England, Bold as Brass celebrates the association between brass bands and coal mining with live performances by marching bands and an entertaining contest.

Ponte Rocks is a live music festival based at the Pontefract Collieries FC site, featuring 5 of the country’s top tribute bands. This is a festival with a passion for great live music, great drinks and just having a good time!  As well as live music there’ll be a variety of food outlets, fully stocked bars, stalls from local businesses –  and even a funfair for kids and adults!

Proms at the Castle

Proms at the Castle returns! Enjoy a magnificent evening of music and light as the team proudly present the West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra. Listen to moving melodies as the sun goes down over Pontefract Castle, including  elegant Elgar, moving Mozart, and Saint-Saens’ sensational Danse Macabre. The concert will end with a fantastic firework finale.
