Room on the Broom at Anglers Country Park

The Room on the Broom Adventure Trail at Anglers Country Park is a magical experience for all the family! With carved wooden statues and lots of activity to keep you entertained along the way, this is something you do not want to miss out on.

Find footsteps, activities and key scenes from one of your favourite Julia Donaldson stories as some familiar characters lead you on your way. Why not add a little extra fun into your adventure by grabbing a Room on the Broom trail activity pack from the Visitor Centre? Packs can be purchased for £2.

The trail is a circular route around the lake and is accessible by foot, cycle, buggy or wheelchair.

Blown Away Trail at Pugneys Country Park

Pugneys Country Park is ready to blow you away, with the revamped Blown Away adventure trail. The original Blown Away story has been rewritten for younger children and Windy The Dog is now the main character.

Grab your Windy The Dog map from reception, read the story, complete the activities and see if you can find all five sculptures as you walk around the lake. What cheeky things has he been up to? Start at grandma’s car and explore all the fun activities along the way.

Take in the view of Sandal Castle from the boat, or use your imagination to play pirate games. Turn over the map to continue your day and find out what else you can do at Pugneys.

Gnome Roam at Newmillerdam Country Park

Have you ever wondered what Gnomes do and don’t like? Take you little ones on the Gnome Roam through Newmillerdam Country Park.

This simple walking trail encourages children to use signs and clues to spot carved statues of gnomes and wildlife. And you may even spot a gigantic bear!

The paths at Newmillerdam Country Park are suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and bikes.

Peter's Lost Peregrine at Pontefract Park

The Peter’s Lost Peregrine trail at Pontefract Park follows a circular route on the 2 mile path around the race course. Starting at the fairytale-themed playground, discover the wooden sculptures on the trail and read the accompanying plaque telling you the next part of the rhyming story.

The story follows Peter’s search for his lost peregrine as he bumps into various animals along the way. As well as listening to the story, children can practise their animal names and have a go at the sounds they make.

The sculptures are large and robust so they’re great for kids to climb and sit on for that all important photo!
