Heritage for Youth Week

Get hands-on with history through a week of immersive workshops!

From an escape room in a real dungeon, to baking bread in our medieval-style oven, these activities have been designed with and for teenagers.

Bring the castle’s medieval past back to life in the company of like-minded young people.

Have fun playing and learning together in a series of multisensory storytelling and crafty sessions!

Bring your mini artists to explore colour, pattern and textures designed specially for tiny hands.

Colour Chemistry from Nature’s Rainbow

Did you know that there are so many amazing colours that can be created from plants?

Learn about how indigo and woad plants can be used to create brilliant blue fabric using oxidisation.

Be inspired by the medieval garden and the plants that were grown there in the past.

This STEM workshop is funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
