Create Café: where good food and people matter…
This ethos is at the heart of everything Create Café stands for and strives toward each day. Not only is there immense pride in preparing high-quality food from scratch, but Create also holds a strong vision to support individuals in society who may face greater challenges. The café actively collaborates with Wakefield College, Mencap, the Prince’s Trust, several special schools and various other organisations to offer opportunities to those with learning difficulties or mental health issues, helping them gain valuable work experience.
Create Café is committed to providing individuals with the chance to learn new skills, improve their communication abilities, and receive a hand up in life – not just a handout.
The flagship café, located on the ground floor of the iconic Wakefield One building, is a lively and welcoming space. Visitors dropping by any day of the week are greeted warmly by the front-of-house team, alongside the dedicated back-of-house team. Whether it’s a quick sandwich and drink during a lunch break, or a made-to-order meal, the service is prompt and efficient.
For those with more time – perhaps taking a break from shopping or attending a business meeting – there’s the option to sit at the café’s table service area, where the team is ready to provide attentive service throughout the visit.
The café is also home to The Wall at Create Café, a constantly-changing space for local artists to display and share their work.
