Fino is a traditional pizzeria that you would expect to find on the streets of Napoli, with a Cicchetti style restaurant in Wakefield.
Cicchetti – Fino’s take on Italian tapas – are medium size dishes, typically served in cicchetti bars in Venice. You can make a meal of them by ordering several plates and pizzas together, which can be shared between friends. Or they can be ordered as a starter with your main to follow.
At Fino it’s all about fresh ingredients and quality. They use handmade dough for their pizzas and freshly made pasta for their pasta dishes. The Head Chef makes his own traditional tomato base and sources only the finest ingredients from all over Italy, to use on pizzas and in the cicchetti dishes.
Coupled with hand picked wines, Fino’s special relationship with Peroni means they’re able to bring you exclusive beers from the entire range.
Let’s not forget the surroundings – the Grade II listed former Cow Shed restaurant dates back to 1596. The interior of no. 53 retains some late 15th century timber framing, including chamfered spine beam and joists, with original painted chevron decoration.
The ground floor has the remains of a moulded stone fireplace, with a complete fireplace above. The upper floor retains an oak panelled frieze and an elaborate Elizabethan plaster ceiling with the remains of a contemporary frieze, plus a single close-studded wall and most of its original roof including two king post trusses.
