Welcome to Good Fortunes, a mystical bar in the heart of Wakefield. In the historic Wood Street neighbourhood of Wakefield’s city centre, a distinct vibrancy exists, characterised by its commitment to hospitality and local independent bars and restaurants.
Good Fortunes, situated at number 24, aspires to be a bold and ambitious addition to this vibrant community, often overshadowed by the adjacent bustle of Westgate.
Beyond the conventional offerings of draft beers, live music, and comfortable seating, Good Fortunes endeavours to differentiate itself through its creative approach to beverage selection. It boasts an extensive non-alcoholic range, catering to those seeking an alternative to traditional hangovers, as well as imaginative cocktails that set it apart from other establishments.
A project that has been a few years in the making. With the pieces cobbled together from previous incarnations of lost venues within the city, a space made with hospitality in mind to the minute detail. With the intention of it being a constant work in progress, it’ll change throughout time and with the help of every customer and staff member who comes and goes. The hunt for perfection is never finished.
In collaboration with local heroes RBT Video and Now Serving, Good Fortunes has partnered on its offerings and a shared outdoor courtyard on Radcliffe Place with LOT. Regularly hosting mid-scale live music events featuring the rising star Matt Hodges, as well as film screenings throughout the spring and summer, Good Fortunes also collaborates with local businesses on one-off events.
