The outdoor market and units in South Elmsall are open three days a week and are popular with shoppers of all ages and background; and with goods ranging from carpets to potpourri, to clothing and the must have butcher, along with fresh fish, and fruit and veg stalls it’s easy to see why.
As with all markets in the Wakefield area there’s a strong mix of permanent and casual traders, meaning every market day is a busy one – especially as it is situated in its own grounds right next door to the local bus terminus and train station offering easy access to Barnsley, Doncaster, Wakefield and Leeds.
Top Tip
There’s a pre-loved market every other Saturday, but make sure you get there early or you’ll miss out on the best bargains.
