Welcome to The Counting House, Pontefract. This bar and bistro is located in a charming Medieval half timbered and jettied building built in 1609.
The Counting House is housed in an historic, two-story, timber-framed medieval building with stone ground floors, originally a merchant’s “counting” house dating back to around 1400. Now restored, it is a lively pub and restaurant located in Swales Yard, conveniently located just off Pontefract’s main shopping area.
Soak up the sunshine in the sun terrace and patio area, or get cosy in the lounge bar.
Walk-ins are welcome, and there are dog-friendly areas inside and out, so your four-legged friend can enjoy the historic atmosphere, too!
