The railway has a ground level 7 1/4in. gauge track, which runs for approx. 1/2 mile, and is run by the Wakefield Society of Model & Experimental Engineers (SMEE).
The miniature railway is situated by the children’s playground near the Athletics Stadium in Thornes Park.
The railway is open to the public for rides on Sundays from 12:30pm until 3:30pm during the winter and until 4:30pm in the summer.
Fares are £1 per person. Other opening days will be announced in the main notices.
