Woolley Park Golf Club is a relaxed, forward-thinking and inclusive golf club that welcomes all golfers. Woolley Park is a family club in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, near Wakefield and just off the M1.

Woolley Park is a stunning 18 hole golf course set in 150 acres of traditional parkland. Opened in 1995, the original layout was designed by golf course architect Michael Shattock. Since its inception, the course has matured beautifully and subtle changes have been implemented by the greens staff to make sure the course remains captivating and a pleasure to play.

The white 6667, yellow 6132 and red 5379 tracks offer up a challenge for all levels of golfing ability. Undulating greens, built to USGA specifications, and gently sloping fairways are characteristic of the course. Water comes in to play on five of the holes, sometimes requiring careful navigation.

At Woolley Park Golf Club all tees are WHS measured for both men and women. Offering red, yellow and white tee options for every player.

The Lodge 9 Hole Course

The 9 hole was added to the club’s portfolio in 2008 and once again Michael Shattock designed the course, but allowed the greens staff to construct the course utilising the knowledge and experience they had gained from the main course. The Par 3 Course is maintained to the same high standards as our main course.

The course is played over 9 holes and can be played in two ways from either the yellow or blue tees. The yellow tees are designed to be the easier Academy Course as it contains 3 Par 4 holes and is a perfect starting point for those still learning to play. These tees are England Golf rated, allowing you to submit course cards for your handicap. The blue tees make up the true Par 3 course and provides a good test of accuracy for all golfers. Of course golfers can choose to mix and match which tees they play from creating the best test for themselves.

The course is ideal for beginners and children as well as those looking for a quick practice after work to hone their skills. Bookings are not essential, but recommended on weekend mornings and midweek evenings.

The Cadet Course

Introduced in 2021, our Cadet Course is designed for children, with more accessible yardage.

Simply look out for the grey tee markers, corresponding to the asterisked tees on the score card. Club hire available free of charge.
