Enjoy the Big Green Castle Fun Day at Pontefract Castle!


Free nature and environment themed fun day with crafts, games, talks and tours, art workshops and den building. Find out about the massive oxygen machines at the castle (trees) and the tiny workers that help keep things running smoothly across the globe (insects).


Make a pledge on the pledge hedge and find out more about Wakefield’s 19th century naturalist Charles Waterton who will be reading some of his letters (and find out his interesting link to Pontefract Castle).


Why not bring a picnic and rug and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family?
