Bodys returns for their 5th year with another night of awesome original acts in the music hall at The Establishment, Wakefield. This time, Fig by Four and Myles Bullen.

9:15pm | Fig by Four

Fig by Four is multi-instrumentalist Sarah Statham (she/her), who weaves ethereal thoughts on connection, memory and loss into a refreshing melting pot of off-kilter alternative/indie musical storytelling. Her debut collection of songs, released as Capture Reveal in October 2023, is hinged on pensive lyrics, dynamic rhythms, characterful guitars and ear-catching basslines. Fig’s varied musicality swings between the viscerally immediate and the sweepingly cinematic. Drip-feeding melodic hooks and choruses that begin to feel like mantras for everyday connection with the self and the world around us. Like glimpsing diary entries or being walked through a dream, Fig by Four is a shift in perspective that draws you in and absorbs you in Sarah’s carefully crafted worlds, which are full of heart, warmth and authentic human spirit. 8:30pm | Adam Hopper & The Wimps

Adam Hopper is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Manchester. Concentrating on poignant, wry lyricism and catchy melodies, he creates his own unique brand of wide-eyed, mellow alternative pop music. Adam’s sound is informed by the brighter moments of 1970’s New York’s art rock and pop movements and the carefree, DIY attitude of 1990’s Lo-Fi and anti-folk scenes. Recently, Adam has teamed up with his band The Wimps and is playing live with a full band and lots of new material, due out in Spring 2024. Listen to Adam’s releases to date here.
