About

As part of Heritage Open Days 2024 explore Wakefield’s history in maps and see the city from a unique historical angle.


Hosted by the West Yorkshire History Centre in partnership with Wakefield Historical Society in its centenary year, take a peek behind the scenes at the archives and learn about the recent conservation of the rare 1851 Town Plan.


The day will include talks, tours and an exhibition of maps and building plans.
