The Big Sing is a community sing along for people affected by dementia and their family, friends, supporters, and champions. This is a magical event in a fun and supportive environment, using the power of music and collective voices to bring people together and lift spirits.
Come along and sing your favourite songs and help support the community as part of Dementia Action Week. This event is free and accessible. Taking place in Wakefield City Centre. Doors open at 1.30 pm. Everyone is welcome.
This event is organised by Memory Action Group. Memory Action group is a local charity who exist to help people affected by dementia and their family and carers living in the Wakefield district and surrounding areas; using games, cognitive therapy, quizzes, singing, crafting, day trips, social experiences and other activities. They create opportunities for peer support for both people living with dementia and also family, friends, and carers.
