The Academy of Live Technology offers degrees and short courses to support the next generation of live experience professionals. Students are given a unique opportunity to learn on a campus on Production Park in Wakefield, West Yorkshire where many of the world’s biggest stars, shows, and brands come to create, innovate, experiment and rehearse.

Previously called Backstage Academy, the institution changed its name in May 2023 to the Academy of Live Technology in a considered process to align with the rapidly evolving live experience and entertainment industry.

ALT has now opened a second campus at Rock Lititz in the USA, delivered by Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D), with courses in Live Event Design & Production.
