About
Birkwood Fisheries is a family run fishing complex in Normanton that consists of 5 fishing lakes and one canal fishing area.
Birkwood Fisheries is ideally situated in the rural urban fringe, close to the market town of Normanton. Close to Leeds and Wakefield but also convenient for further places further afield.
The complex currently has 5 lakes: Main Lake, Frog Hall Lake, Molly’s Lake, Oscar’s Lake and Emily’s Lake. The total number of fishing stations is now in excess of 100. Individual carp in the Main Lake and Frog Hall are getting up to almost 30lbs in size, and in Emily’s, Oscar’s and Molly’s Lakes the biggest carp are now in the region of 20lbs. There are also plenty of other species of fish in the lakes, including: roach, rudd, tench, perch and bream. Recently Birkwood Fisheries have stocked F1 carp in both Emily’s and Oscar’s Lakes.
Whenever you visit Birkwood you are assured of a warm welcome and an enjoyable fishing experience. Fishing platforms are well spaced and at most times of the year cars can be parked behind pegs. Alternatively there is plenty of hard standing car parking within a few yards of each lake. Toilets are available across the lake site.
