About

Built in 1785 by Bernard Hartley, a Pontefract surveyor, Pontefract Town Hall is a Grade II listed building standing in the centre of Pontefract Market place.

The Town Hall still houses many of its original features including the Magistrate’s Bench, Nelson’s plaster cast model and The Nelson Room and Assembly Room. In 1996 The Town Hall underwent a restoration programme and today the venue can accommodate anything from conferences, weddings, private parties, fairs and more! Additionally, the Town Hall boasts a 250-capacity auditorium, making it a popular venue for staging large concerts, shows and festivals. Town Hall also offers sound and light systems that makes it the ideal venue for stage productions and live entertainment.
