Wakefield Youth Music Theatre present the breath-taking musical smash hit Evita. With lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Evita was first produced in 1978 and it charts the rise to fame and power of María Eva Duarte de Perón. A poor girl from Argentina who follows her dreams of becoming an actress.
Her subsequent rise in politics captured the hearts of the Argentinian people and saw her become first lady of Argentina.
The award-winning musical blockbuster features such memorable songs as Buenos Aires, Another Suitcase in Another Hall, Oh What a Circus and of course the unforgettable Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.
