About
Join local textile artist and printmaker Kirstie Williams for a talk on her recent research into Wakefield’s rich textile history. Kirstie will also share her project, Mills in Colour. The artworks from this project explore imagery of textile mills in Ossett and Horbury through natural and plant-based printmaking. Much of the imagery and sources Kirstie has referred to are from the Wakefield Libraries Photographic Collection and the collections of the West Yorkshire Archive Service.
There will be an opportunity to ask Kirstie questions about her project in a Q&A session at the end of the talk.
The Mills in Colour project was supported with a Culture Grant by Wakefield Council as part of Our Year – Wakefield District 2024. This event is part of Our Heritage, Our Stories, a 2-year project made possible thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players.
