As part of their Pit to the Pitch project, Featherstone Rovers Foundation have been working with children and young people through creative and heritage workshops to celebrate the history and traditions of Featherstone Rovers RLFC and its association with the heritage of coal mining in Featherstone.


Join the Foundation at the Featherstone Rovers VS Wakefield Trinity game where they will be celebrating the project end showcasing:



  • A pop-up exhibition about the project

  • A half-time performance by Join the Momentum Dance Programme and local schoolchildren

  • A permanent legacy mural created by artist and ex-miner Mick Hollinworth


This project was funded by Wakefield Council Culture Grants as part of Our Year – Wakefield District 2024.
