Crossings and Gateways will deliver a programme of murals and sculptures within communities across the district, building on our legacy of public art to help transform our places and celebrate our unique heritage, as well as looking into the future. The programme will be delivered in partnership with local people and groups, representing the themes and subjects which matter to them, using the district as a canvas to showcase our creativity.
The programme of public art will be revealed throughout the year, and will also help transform and uplift development sites through a series of vibrant murals on hoardings produced by local artists.
The programme will feature a range of opportunities for local artists and creatives to contribute and grow their skills and gain experience through accessible commissions. Look out for opportunities on the Creative Wakefield website, as well as on our social media channels.
