Leave the world behind, as you drive down the lane alongside the canal to be greeted by ducks, swans and narrow boats, soon reaching the Moorings with its adjacent parking area.


Step indoors to be welcomed by the well-equipped kitchen/diner, with a host of appliances to ease your stay, where you can prepare and enjoy mealtimes together, either of the enclosed gardens make the perfect place for alfresco dinning, barbecues, and drinks, whilst watching wildlife, boats and people on and by the canal.


Cosy up in the sitting room, complete with plush seating, a Smart TV, speaker, and a rustling wood-burning stove, setting the ideal scene on cooler evenings, before drifting off to sleep in one of the four bedrooms on offer; select between one king-size bedroom, two double bedrooms, and a second-floor twin (zip/link).


The home is complete with a first floor bathroom, housing both a soaking bath and a shower, also with a ground floor cloakroom/ WC for convenience.


On your doorstep is the Trans Pennine Trail (TPT), Stanley Marsh and Southern Washlands Nature Reserve, offering exiting routes to explore and the perfect landscape to hike, bike and birdwatch, on the water, hire a boat, bring your fishing rod, paddle board or canoe and enjoy the Aire and Calder navigation from a different angle, for golf there’s 3 courses within 5 miles to try out, for a bite to eat or evening meal take a five minute walk over the swing-bridge to Stanley Ferry pub.


A hub of amenities can be found in the city of Wakefield, where you can tour The Hepworth Wakefield, attend a show at the Theatre Royal Wakefield, discover Wakefield Museum, Thornes Park, Newmillerdam or tour the remains of Sandal Castle.


National Trust Nostell, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, National Coal Mining Museum and Diggerland for the kids are also within short driving distance.


With Wakefield, Leeds and Holmfirth within reach, brimming with shops, eateries, pubs, bars and historical sights, there’s plenty to see and do, with The Moorings as your abode.
