Wakefield Music Collective are bringing music to this year’s Rhubarb Festival! Expect reggae, folk, country, rock, blues and pop live from the Rhu-bar.

FRIDAY 16 FEBRUARY


11am: Henri Pearson (Pop)


Been seen on Star Search. Open Mic UK and X Factor. Performs across the region with his dulcet Yorkshire tones, influenced by house music and R & B. Henri’s music has been played on various BBC Radio stations and he records at the famous Loom Studios.


12pm: The Spartans (Eclectic Mix)


Expect lively foot tapping covers from Danielle and Kris. An eclectic mix of favourites for you to enjoy.


1pm: Daisy Dorothy (Folk Pop)


Unique finger pickin’ guitarist and singer/songwriter. Poetic nature of lyrics ‘paints floating dandelions and whispering winds across a timeless landscape’.


2pm: Paula Ryan (Indie Folk)


An award winning singer/songwriter and Gaelic ‘Funkstress’, who is a unique voice in the contemporary folk world. Her music is a wonderful blend of Celtic lyricism and passion. Also plays an array of instruments, e.g., Bodran, guitar, marimba. Paula performs at national and international festivals, and is well worth seeking out.


3pm: Diamond Dac Duo (Trad Blues)


Traditional rhythm and blues offerings from the era of Robert Johnson, John Jackson and contemporaries. Expect great slide guitar, earthy vocals and bass playing that recreates the authentic blues sound.


4pm: Ryan Mitchell Smith (Jazzy Blues Pop)


Singer/songwriter and blues harmonica from Wakefield. Jazzy, blues pop songs, original and catchy. Regularly gigged in local music scene for many years. 


SATURDAY 17 FEBRUARY


11am: Jack Askew (Eclectic Acoustic)


Young emerging solo artiste from Wakefield. His originals and selected covers transcend genre, with styles ranging from grunge to jazz & interesting stuff in between.


12pm: Ric Neale (Alt Pop Pianist)


Singer/songwriter and pianist whose heartfelt songs about love, life and parenting is beloved by his many followers. Performed all over the UK and racked up many thousands of streams of his latest album.


1pm: Ukelele Glenn (Classic Songs)


Classic songs from 5 decades with interesting Ukulele twist. Singing along is positively encouraged. 


2pm: Charlie Padfield (Alt Pop, Rock)


Singer/songwriter and guitarist from West Yorkshire. Different genres, grunge, folk, indie pop – originals and covers. Expect high energy performance, full of personality.


3pm: Robyn Hunt


Acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter with pop and country twist.


4pm: Sally Cinnamon (Pop Indie Covers)


Eclectic mix of covers from acoustic pioneers. Make sure you take a seat and be entertained by this duo’s musicality and engaging banter.


SUNDAY 18 FEBRUARY


11am: Ed & Olivia (Pop Duo)


Local duo who first began performing together in their first year at middle school and play an eclectic mix of pop/rock covers. Currently based in Newcastle where Olivia is completing a music degree and Ed an apprenticeship in financial consulting. They travel down regularly to play local gigs.


12pm: 189ers (Sing-along Folk)


3 piece folk/punk/country outfit who met in a pub in Castleford and formed the group in 2018. Play a mix of covers and original songs from the 60’s to the present day. Singing along actively encouraged.


1pm: Ruby Macintosh (Pop Indie Folk)


Vintage pop sensation we have all been waiting for. Originals and cover songs presented in a unique style by Ruby on guitar & vocals and Stuart Brennan on Double Bass. Expect to be memorably entertained.


2pm: Fox Palmer (Indie Folk Rock)


London based original acoustic rock/ folk outfit with a dash of indie, which evokes powerful evocative music. Fox Palmer offer a unique sound, stunning original music & captivating live shows. Give their music a listen & be amazed.


3pm: Jilly Riley (Acoustic Eclectic Mix)


Singer/songwriter offering stripped back interpretations of original songs. Feel good vibes and funky sass, glazed with golden summer love to warm up the long winter days.

The Rhu-Bar is open from 10am – 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.
