There are a host of fantastic community galas taking place across our lovely district from Wrenthorpe to Ackworth, with live music, family friendly activities, delicious food and much more!

Illingworth Park Gala 

Illingworth Park Gala is a free fun day organised by a dedicated team of volunteers for the whole community to enjoy. This year’s event is particularly special at it marks 100 years since Illingworth Park was given to the people of Ossett.

Ackworth Gala

Hosted by the Ackworth Parish Council, the annual Ackworth Gala is a beloved annual event that brings the whole community together with free activities and entertainment including a climbing wall and bouncy castle!

Wrenthorpe Gala 

Wrenthorpe Gala is your opportunity to celebrate the village of Wrenthorpe in the height of summer. Enjoy live music, indulge in some tasty street food, pick up some gifts from the stalls from local groups and organisations, take part in games and much more!

Featherstone Gala

Featherstone Town Council are hosting their annual gala which includes their grand parade – a vibrant spectacle featuring lively community groups, towering stilt walkers, and a marching band that will wind its way through the town on its way to Purston Park.

Altofts Summer Gala

The Altofts Community and Sport Foundation are hosting a Summer Gala at The Brig to bring the whole community together, with a variety of stalls available and family friendly activities.

Normanton Gala Weekend 

Come one, come all, to celebrate in style at Normanton’s 60th Annual Gala Weekend, hosted at Haw Hill Park. Witness the grandeur of the parade marching through the streets of Normanton, leading to an extravaganza at the park.
