Join Wakefield Cathedral for a wonderful (long) weekend of festive fun!

On Friday, Edgeland Arts will be hosting the first of two workshops between 6pm – 7:15pm, giving people the chance to create and decorate their own lantern for FREE (to be displayed at the Wakefield Artwalk the following week, then available to take home afterwards).

Then, be enchanted by the Cathedral Choir as they sing from the steps of the cathedral before the first showing of STILL, with a night-time “choral service” also on from 7:30pm – free for all to attend.

Plus, enjoy a colouring station set up alongside other free children’s activities, with delicious warming drinks and cakes available.

On Saturday, it’s the second day of Edgeland Arts’ Make Your Own Lantern workshops running from 11am – 2pm.

Then, why not take a FREE tour of the Cathedral’s beautiful stained glass windows, led by cathedral architect John Bailey. Tours available at 11am and 2pm.

On Sunday, following the success of the Pilates under the Planet when Gaia arrived in August, get set for a soothing Pilates session on Sunday evening from 6pm (this is a ticketed event, £5 per person with limited spaces). Click here to book.

The Christmas lights will be switched on on stage at 5:45pm on Friday 19 November, hosted by Rhubarb Radio.

Light Up takes place throughout the district from 17 Nov – 5 Dec – check out the full programme here.
