Violinist Ionel Manciu and cellist Leo Popplewell come to West Wakefield Methodist Church, courtesy of the Wakefield Concert Society, for an evening of stunning string music.

Described as an ‘energetic and agile violinist’ with ‘bold, passionate colours’ Ionel Manciu is quickly building a reputation as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral leader.

Praised for his “full-blooded commitment” and “delicious dancing grace” (The Telegraph), Leo Popplewell is much in demand as a chamber musician, recitalist and orchestral principal.

Ionel and Lio are founding members of the Mithras Trio and won the 10th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition and 67th Royal Over-Seas League Competition.
